چکیده

CWMFC is a novel technology that has been used for almost decade concurrent wastewater treatment and electricity generation in varying scopes of domestic, municipal, industrial applications since its implementation 2012. Its advantage low-cost enhanced sustainable bioelectricity gained considerable attention. Nevertheless, the overall efficiency this inclined by several operating factors configuration strands, such as pH, sewage composition, organic loading, electrode material, filter media, electrogens, hydraulic retention time, macrophytes. Here, we investigate effect wetland plant component on performance CWMFCs. The macrophyte’s involvement oxygen input, nutrient uptake, direct degradation pollutants required production are discussed more detail. review identifies compares planted unplanted with their COD removal based previous recent studies.

Treatment of Oil Wastewater and Electricity Generation by Integrating Constructed Wetland with Microbial Fuel Cell

Conventional oil sewage treatment methods can achieve satisfactory removal efficiency, but energy consumption problems during the process of oil sewage treatment are worth attention. The integration of a constructed wetland reactor and a microbial fuel cell reactor (CW-MFC) to treat oil-contaminated wastewater, compared with a microbial fuel cell reactor (MFC) alone and a constructed wetland re...

Constructed Wetland Treatment Plant Constructed Wetland Microbial Fuel Cells

18 This work aimed at determining the amount of energy that can be harvested by 19 implementing microbial fuel cells (MFC) in horizontal subsurface constructed wetlands 20 (HSSF CWs) during the treatment of real domestic wastewater. To this aim, MFC were 21 implemented in a pilot plant based on two HSSF CW, one fed with primary settled 22 wastewater (Settler line) and the other fed with the eff...

Optimization of Bioelectricity Generation in Constructed Wetland-Coupled Microbial Fuel Cell Systems

Constructed wetland-coupled microbial fuel cell systems (CW-MFCs) incorporate an aerobic zone and an anaerobic zone to generate electricity that achieves the oxidative degradation of contaminants. However, there are few reports on the performance of such coupled systems. In this study, we determined the optimal configuration of CW-MFCs to characterize their electricity generation performance. B...

Wastewater Treatment with Vertical Flow Constructed Wetland

Water is one of the most important elements involved in the creation and development of healthy life. Haphazard disposal of untreated wastewater from households as well as institutions and industry is causing severe deterioration of water bodies in many urban areas in the developing world. There are several methods to treat the municipal wastewater for intended use. One of the methods of the tr...
